Grand Pigalle Boutique Hotel Welcomes with Bed and Beverage in Paris

Dec 7, 2023

Located in the vibrant heart of Paris, the Grand Pigalle Boutique Hotel has become a highlight of the city’s hotel scene. Situated on the villas of avenue Frochot, the private estate where Toulouse-Lautrec once lived, this boutique hotel is a sibling to the Experimental Cocktail Club bars in London, Paris, and New York. Embracing the cosmopolitan spirit of South Pigalle (SoPi), the Grand Pigalle Hotel is nestled in a neighborhood known for its festive, hedonistic, and mysterious vibe. This area has been reclaimed by Parisians to redefine its unique charm and energy.

Established by Romée de Goriainoff, Pierre-Charles Cros, and Olivier Bon, this chic property stands prominently at the corner of rues Victor-Massé and Henry Monnier, one of Paris’s most desirable locations. The 37 rooms of the Grand Pigalle Hotel reflect the resurgence of this historic neighborhood and capture the unique culture of Pigalle.

This marks the Experimental Group’s first venture into hotel hospitality, successfully offering guests an authentic Parisian experience. The ground floor, which serves as the reception and wine bar, evolves throughout the day to reflect the city’s dynamic moods. The hotel departs from traditional lobby designs, instead welcoming guests with a simple desk that holds antique-style door keys. The hallways feature a vibrant “martini” blue leopard-print carpet designed by French designer Dorothée Meilichzon, who crafted the hotel’s modern decor. These corridors lead to rooms adorned with golden pineapples on the doors, cocktail “minibars,” and rolling carts.

Embodying French elegance, the hotel boasts large bathtubs, custom-made mahogany desks, drawer handles, doorknobs, metallic wallpaper details, window frames, and miniature handmade cocktails from ECC, all accessed with traditional keys. The cocktail menu and wine list at the Grand Pigalle Hotel merge classic drinks from the founders’ history with new creations inspired by Pigalle’s bohemian spirit. This “Bed & Beverage” concept ensures that cocktails are available both in the hotel’s rez-de-chaussée and as room service, accompanied by an extensive wine list.

The hotel’s wine bar, “Wine and Dine,” features an Italian-accented wine list with over 200 selections from Italy’s best producers. The Grand Pigalle Hotel’s cellar is a perfect spot to discover these lesser-known wines.

Views from the upper floors are stunning, offering picturesque scenes of the Sacré-Cœur’s tip framed by charming apartment rooftops.

One of the founders shared with Cool Hunting, “Opening a hotel was a natural progression after launching bars and restaurants. A hotel combines all our concepts—wine, cocktails, food—under one roof, with the added benefit of a stylish place to stay. As frequent travelers who spend considerable time in hotels, we wanted to bring our unique ideas to this industry.” Olivier Bon added, “The integration with the food and beverage aspect is a significant advantage. We’ve always aimed to create a boutique hotel with excellent room service.”

Grand Pigalle Hotel stands as a testament to blending modern hospitality with the rich cultural tapestry of Paris, offering a unique and immersive experience for its guests.
