Four Seasons Resort Vail Opens

Jun 30, 2024

The 2010-11 winter season in Vail Valley, nestled in the Colorado Rockies, promises to be one of the best ever. With a snow base of 31 inches (79 centimeters) already in place and over 170 runs open across 4,300 acres (1,700 hectares) of skiable terrain on Vail Mountain, skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts are in for a treat. The opening of the new Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail adds to the excitement, offering an ideal time to gather with family and friends for an unforgettable winter adventure.

Hans Willimann, the general manager of Four Seasons Resort Vail, expresses his enthusiasm, “We’re thrilled to welcome our first guests and residents to Four Seasons Resort Vail.” Leading a team of over 200 staff members from resorts around the globe, he emphasizes the resort’s commitment to excellence. The resort’s Ski Concierge service ensures a hassle-free experience, with internationally-experienced staff ready to provide top-notch service.

Situated at the entrance of Vail Village, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail features the largest guest rooms in Vail and spacious Residences for private and fractional ownership. The resort’s unique architecture includes numerous balconies, and its 121 rooms and suites are equipped with stone fireplaces, deep soaking tubs, and a cozy ambiance. The Private Residences and Residence Club offer open floor plans with stunning views of Vail Mountain and the surrounding valleys.

To celebrate its grand opening, the resort offers a Ski Free package throughout the season. This package includes two three-day lift tickets and two three-day ski or board rentals for up to two adults and two children, based on a four-night stay. Additionally, children under 12 enjoy complimentary meals (excluding private bar items and room service). Another attractive option is the Stay Longer package, which provides a complimentary fifth night with four nights booked, along with two 50-minute massages per room per stay.

Guests and residents enjoy exclusive access to the resort’s Ski Concierge at the base of the Vista Bahn chairlift. Upon arrival, guests receive expert measurements and details, which are transmitted to the Ski Concierge facility. Overnight, perfectly fitted boots are placed in personal lockers, skis are waxed, and the next day’s slopes are prepared. The Ski Concierge greets guests with hot chocolate and muffins and offers advice on the best runs. After skiing, equipment is dropped off to be dried and prepped for the next day, while guests can explore Vail Village’s après-ski scene or dine at the resort’s Flame Restaurant and Fireside Lounge.

Four Seasons Resort Vail also features a full-service spa to soothe sore muscles, combat high altitude, and pamper the soul. The outdoor pool, heated year-round, is attended by staff offering cozy robes and hot cocoa. At night, guests find hot water bottles tucked between the sheets and a fireplace ready to warm the room with a flick of a switch.

For larger groups, the resort provides two and three-bedroom suites and Private Residence rentals, complete with living, dining, and kitchen areas, all with full Four Seasons service. The Gore Range Wing, accommodating up to 16 people, combines two suites and three rooms with a large living area and terrace. Those looking to stay longer can consider owning one of the 16 Private Residences or an interest in one of the 19 fractional Residences.

Located at the doorstep of Vail Village, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail invites leisurely strolls among designer shops, art galleries, family-friendly restaurants, and lively nightspots. The 2010-11 season kicks off with Vail Family Holidaze from December 18 to 25, featuring snowman decorating, family-friendly concerts, an ice show, and a glow-in-the-dark event for children. Midseason events include CarniVail, the American Ski Classic, and the Vail Film Festival. The season concludes with Spring Back to Vail, featuring free concerts and street parties.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail joins its Rocky Mountain counterparts, Four Seasons Resort Whistler and Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, offering year-round vacation destinations. The newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Denver, just 30 minutes by air or two hours by car from Vail Valley, serves as a perfect gateway to the mountains or an urban complement to a resort holiday.
