Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo México Opening

Jun 10, 2024

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has revealed plans for a new high-end resort in Tamarindo, Mexico. The new establishment, named Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo México, is slated to open in 2021. Situated on a secluded peninsula along the Pacific Ocean, this region is celebrated as “Costa Alegre” or “Joy Coast,” renowned for its scenic beaches, verdant landscape, and distinctive terrain.

According to John Davison, President and CEO of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, this development offers an ideal chance to expand the Four Seasons presence in Mexico. Guests will experience the area’s natural beauty alongside the exceptional service and quality for which Four Seasons is known.

Located within a protected eco-reserve, the resort is positioned 25 miles north of Manzanillo Airport. Most of its 155 rooms will offer expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, enveloped by the surrounding jungle and lush golf course. The contemporary architecture and interior design, crafted by Legorreta + Legorreta and Taller Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, will harmonize with the natural environment, featuring local materials and textures.

The resort will be part of the expansive 2,100-acre El Tamarindo development, which includes multiple beaches and secluded coves. Built to utilize elevations from sea level to approximately 120 meters (394 feet) above sea level, the development provides stunning views of the landscape, golf course, and ocean. Accommodations are designed to cater to both adult travelers and families with children.

Amenities at the resort will include four dining and beverage venues: an ocean-view bar and restaurant, a beach bar and grill, and a golf club restaurant. Additionally, the resort will feature three pools, a full-service spa nestled in a tropical forest, a fitness center, a young adults’ center and lounge, a water sports center, tennis courts, and 370 square meters (4,000 square feet) of meeting space. The resort’s 18-hole, par-72 golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and David Fleming, is highly acclaimed and will be a key attraction.

Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo will join an expanding portfolio of Four Seasons properties in Mexico, which includes Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City, the recently opened Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, and the newly announced Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol. This addition underscores Four Seasons’ commitment to offering luxury experiences in prime locations across Mexico.
